My name is Misty Cooney, and this is my fourth year teaching third grade. I previously taught Kindergarten for five years. I absolutely love teaching children and helping them grow and learn.

     I was born here and grew up going to Greensburg Community Schools. I graduated from Indiana University in 1998.  After being a stay at home mom for 8 years, I went back to school and obtained my teaching license from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008. 

     My husband, Gene, and I have two daughters, Kierra (17) and Taylor (15), who attend school at Greensburg High School.  I coach Junior Varsity Girl's Basketball at GHS and an Indiana Flight AAU basketball team.  When I am not teaching or coaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching my daughters play sports and sing and perform in concerts and musicals. 

     I love teaching third grade. My goal is to help and motivate my students to reach their fullest potential and to promote a love for learning. Third grade is full of new adventures and learning opportunities, and I am blessed to be a part of this incredible journey.
